Audio transcription

Standard charge for audio transcription is from £15 per hour of typing. 

As a guide, it takes approximately one hour to transcribe 15 minutes of dictation where the recording is of good quality and clearly dictated.  It can take up to twice as long where the quality or clarity is poor, there is more than one speaker, technical terminology is used or speakers have regional accents. 

I am more than happy to listen to part of a recording and to give an estimate of the time it will take to transcribe any particular recording.

Copy typing and word processing

  • Copy typing (simple layout) from £5 per page

  • Copy typing (complicated layout e.g. tables and graphs) from £8 per page

  • For documents over 5,000 words (e.g. thesis, dissertations, novels, etc) from £10 per 1,000 words

  • CV – simple retype/reformat plus 10 printed copies £25.00

  • CV - re-write plus 10 printed copies £40.00

  • Additional copies at 50p per page, plus postage at cost. 

  • Personalised letter and envelope service at £2.50 per letter plus postage at cost.

Secretarial and Bookkeeping

  • Standard secretarial and bookkeeping assistance from £15 per hour.

  • Retainer package of up to 10 hours a month from £140.

  • Retainer package of up to 20 hours a month from £270.

  • Retainer package of up to 40 hours a month from £500.

Legal, IT Services and Event Management

We charge a standard rates from £20 per hour for legal secretarial, bookkeeping, IT services and event management. IT services include PowerPoint presentations, desktop publishing, word processing templates, basic website design, advice on domain name registration, hosting packages and website submission, creation and management of contacts databases.  Third party costs are not included in this price and will be charged at cost (plus suppliers’ VAT and delivery costs where applicable).

Lifestyle support

From £10 per request or introduction.

Additional charges

Office expenditure, such as telephone calls, emails, faxes, floppy discs, CD-roms, envelopes and postage are charged at cost.

Document printing can be provided as follows:

  • B/W printing on white paper - 80gsm - 10p a sheet

  • B/W printing on white engrossment paper - 100 gsm - 15p a sheet

  • Colour printing on white paper - 80gsm - 40p a sheet

  • Colour printing on engrossment paper - 100 gsm - 50p a sheet

  • Colour printing of overhead transparencies - £2.50 each

We can also provide covers, laminating and binding as follows:-

  • Plastic or card front and back covers £1 each

  • Laminating £1.50 per sheet (A4) and £2 (A3)

  • Binding £1 per document

Scanning hard copy documents or converting Word documents into a PDF format are charged at 25p a sheet.

OCR services are provided at £1.00 a sheet and includes proof reading and formatting the final document.

Surcharges

Our charges are based on a minimum 48 hour turnaround time, but we will always ensure work is turned around within the timeframe agreed between us, whether that is more or less than 48 hours.  When you need work carried out urgently, we will charge a small surcharge.  For work which is required within 24 to 48 hours we charge a 5% surcharge, and for work which is required in less than 24 hours, we will charge a 10% surcharge.

Third Party Costs

Third party costs, such as production of 35mm slides, outsourced printing services, hire of venues, catering, etc is charged at cost and monies on account will be requested from you in advance in accordance with a written quote from the supplier.  You will be supplied with a receipted VAT invoice from suppliers on completion of the work.
